Culture Culture

The tools of our trade aren't for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity. 2 Cor 10:4

The Corinthians brought their massively corrupt culture into their church. Our culture is also massively corrupt. Hmmm....

I'm guessing that there are ways we are doing the same. I'm personally feeling called to humility. Less to a "storm the gates" posture and more toward a quiet, listening, dependent posture. Not in passivity but with intention.

Poem

Intellectual Man

with all of your sophisticated, apologetic excuses.
You arguments take you far from your heart
I understand it is a gender defensiveness
and a cultural status symbol for you to diss emotions.
That's why you
are so into it.
Your fear of the anti-Christ
is a bit extreme.
One day you will trust God
enough to give him your heart also
and not just your mind.
You will experience things
that the Bible doesn't put
into words
and you will not have
to validate it with scripture.
You will just know.

Bitter Woman
with your sarcastic attitude.
Thinking with just a bit of
nonverbal mocking you can
shut me down.
You haven't heard His voice
and feel insecure.
I know it is hard to hear through your bondage triggers.
Your soul throwing a fit
and clamoring for attention.
I know you hate the emotions
that Satan brings,
like a bad relationship,
he brings out the worst in you
causing you to hate yourself.
One day you will be soft to truth
with your triggers neutralized.
It may take awhile
but you will be free
to love deeply
as a woman is designed to.
